Installed these mounts to flip my stock mirrors, very pleased with the result.

can you take a pic with the bars turned completely each way? i swear when i test fitted mine a few weeks back and did that the mirrors were hitting and I didn't like it so put everything back. of course i just now thought about rotating the clamps so that might have helped the problem. maybe i should try it again.

Here's the pics. I took the photos from lock out on both sides.

I've also tested it by moving the actual mirrors to all possible positions and they still miss the tank on full lock out.

I question the placement of these mirrors. Not the look, I reckon they look cool, but the fact they are so low. Is it really practical? If this were a road rocket where you are leaning forward more and so your head is already tilted downward (comparatively) I can see them doing the trick, but on a cruiser and particularly our Rebel, we have a more upright posture. I find it would take more effort to look that far down, it doesn't seem efficient or natural.

Just my thoughts.

i tried fitting the adapters again yesterday and remembered my issue. i can't get the clamp on the bar next to the brake reservoir. looks like it's too thick. or you'd have to force it into place, and i feel like it might break doing that, cause others have said the metal is kind of cheap (and it does look like it could be), or really coated plastic.. I might give it one more try just didn't want to take a chance on breaking the adapter or damaging the reservoir.
obviously the fitment on the left side would be no problem.

My brackets came in yesterday. Couple things I learned were 1) the brackets I got were cheap quality and snapped in half while tightening 2) wouldn't allow me to turn the handlebars all the way with mirrors flipped on the bracket, 3) doesn't want to fit between brake reservoir and handlebar on the right side.

Didn't want to do it but I think I'll cave and just do the bar end mirrors.

Yeah the brackets are cheap. For the them to work while not hitting the tank I changed the clamps so the stem was on the other side of the handle bars (further away) it allowed another inch to play with.

On the right side I loosened the front brake/reservoir mount and it allows you to get the bracket in between then tighten the bracket first then the mount. There is a little notch in the bar showing where to place the mount when putting it back on so it functions the same

thanks Aroman. i'm going to try again this week. i probably just needed to adjust the angle last time to avoid hitting.
i also had the thought of loosening the reservoir first then putting it back after the clamps in place, so might try that.

Screwed it on too tight while trying to nudge it between the brake reservoir and handlebar.
Next time around I'll loosen the reservoir bracket to get it on correctly the first time around.

Bracket was plastic, treat it as such and you should be okay. Don't be a dummy like me and overtighten thinking it's metal.

got it done today. just loosened the reservoir enough to slide the half bracket up close, and made sure i didn't overtighten the clamps. i'm happy with the results and left about 1 inch clearance on the tank from full stop

Lyoko - :) I had bar ends on my buell but never did like them. they made the handlebars look that much longer to me. they were only an improvement over the mickey mouse ears the bike came with which is why i changed them.

Twizz- i'm the same height as you, the flipped mod is no problem for me

doesn't bother me one bit. i have thought about putting metal caps on there, just bought the wrong size last time i was at home depot. they were only .89 cents, but 1/4" was too small, so i'll try the size larger on my next visit.

Anyone here have a flip stock mirror with the straight handlebar? Does it touch the tank?
Not once you get the angle correct. first time it did then I just moved the clamp enough to leave a 1" gap before full stop.

pull up the rubber gasket to reveal the 2 nuts. then put 2 wrenches on them and turn each one in the opposite direction. I want to say the threads are reversed, but dont remember at this point, that was a few months back.
:surprise:

Thanks! got them off but do I can't get one of them into my handle bar mount relocator. Do I screw the mirror into the relocator with one of the nuts as well? Maybe I have two right-side relocators as I was only able to get the right side done (left mirror rotated to the right now).

EDIT: If anyone can send me a picture of how theirs looks (specifically where it screws in) that may help me so I can see how much of the mirror is screwed into the mount. Thanks!
