I'm looking for a windscreen to get things quieter. I started with stock which I thought was loud until I installed the Puig high road one. It was twice as loud as stock. It hit me right in the face and even with ear plugs was too loud.

I returned it, installed the stock one, and am now looking for a new one. I might try the Gustafsson. Not sure what size though. I'm 5'11" with tall torso. Suggestions? Thx
I have mine sized so I look over the windscreen. The wind goes over my head. It was to long so I cut it down. Before I made it shorter I could see through the screen and hated it that way. If you are like I am then you will want to just look over the screen so you can see the road. This video may help you with the sizing.

I have a 22 Rebel 1100 and I purchased the Memphis Shades brand in 17 inch. They are a great product and with the quick connect system you can remove and change to a different size or color in 30 seconds! I also bought the 19 inch and for me it is the PERFECT HIEGHT ! No noise at all and excellent quality!

I've tried the Puig touring, TRex, and Gustafsson. All were louder or had more buffeting then stock. The Gustafsson was the 6.5" and it had horrible wind buffeting. The TRex one was the 16X11. It was also louder. Not sure what else to try other then sticking with stock.

How tall was the Gustafsson screen? And was it for the Honda Batwing?

It was the 6.5. And for the bagger T version. View attachment 44393

Yeah, that would be to short to keep the wind off my head. I do know the wind is louder the more it hits your head. Also the helmet design will also increase the wind noise. I wear a Schuberth helmet, C3 and now a C4. I know in helmet test the Schuberth and Shoei helmets have the least amount of wind noise.

Yup. I've had Shoei Gt2s for the last 10 years. I initially bought it due to it being fairly light, but mainly because it's quiet. I have Tinnitus from loud helmets in the past. I also just bought a Shoei Neotec 2 because I wanted a good flip up helmet. It's not as quiet as the Gt2, but still quiet compared to my previous ones.

I ordered the oem Honda "taller" windscreen to test that. If that's louder or the same I'll be sticking with stock. So weird how even the tallest one I tried (the Puig touring) is louder then the little stock one!

Reckon I should post an update about my own windshield search

I went from the stock wind.....wristband that comes on the stock 1100T (Yes it looks cooler than just having a faring there, but functionally it was pretty useless)
to a T-Rex Racing Regular windshield (the worst size for me, at 6'0", the wind hit right at my nose and created an incredible amount of buffeting noise)
and then to the T-Rex Racing Large windshield, which is nearly perfect in my opinion.

At interstate speeds (~80 mph) the wind barely brushes the top of my helmet.
I can hear my own engine again.

In my setup, with the HeliBars Horizon handlebars my brake reservoir currently touches the back of the windshield. This is not much of a problem, except that this left the clutch side of the windshield unsupported and flapping in the wind, and that introduced a speed wobble into my ride.
At the moment I have a wooden block supporting the left side of the windshield until I can put in a more permanent solution. This eliminated the speed wobble, so I'm confident that a permanent piece would solve the issue

I am pretty dang happy with the T-Rex 1100T large windshield.

@FatFox can you post a photo of the T-Rex tall windshield on your 1100T? I'm in the same boat as everyone else. Started with stock, moved to Honda's tall windshield, now using the T-Rex short one and not entirely satisfied. T-Rex's website doesn't show a photo of the tall version on an 1100T. I'm interested but not excited about the CHIPS look.

When you suffer from buffeting,
Try a screen extension.

That will mellow out the buffeting quite a bit.
That is due to the slit that will sit between the screen and the extension.
It will reduce the pressure drop where the wind goes over the top of your screen.
This is also the reason that you see many modern screens that have an opening in the screen.

Moh

I have the T model and while the stock windscreen looks cool, it's stupid and basically useless. So I ordered the Honda factory "Tall" windscreen that only comes in clear. That was worse because now the wind hit my chin ans caused buffeting (I'm 5'9" BTW). So I ordered the Trex 11" smoked windscreen which came today but I haven't tested it yet. Ride report to follow.....

Here are a couple comparison shots showing the two Hondas and the Trex.

Original bottom, Honda Tall middle, Trex 11" top.

I have that one too. I saw that some people have different colored windshields but I have yet to find out where you can purchase them. I would love a purple one. Lool
