A Tale Of FOUR Windscreens

I have the T model and while the stock windscreen looks cool, it's stupid and basically useless. So I ordered the Honda factory "Tall" windscreen that only comes in clear. That was worse because now the wind hit my chin ans caused buffeting (I'm 5'9" BTW). So I ordered the Trex 11" smoked windscreen which came today but I haven't tested it yet. Ride report to follow.....

Here are a couple comparison shots showing the two Hondas and the Trex.

Original bottom, Honda Tall middle, Trex 11" top.

Had the Puig high shield on my 1100T, wind hitting me in face. Replaced with the Trex tall and viola, it does the job. Also have Kuryakin lowers and now I don't have the wind coming up from under the fairing..... I am 6' and am now comfortable, no buffering, smooth riding......

Reckon I should post an update about my own windshield search

I went from the stock wind.....wristband that comes on the stock 1100T (Yes it looks cooler than just having a faring there, but functionally it was pretty useless)
to a T-Rex Racing Regular windshield (the worst size for me, at 6'0", the wind hit right at my nose and created an incredible amount of buffeting noise)
and then to the T-Rex Racing Large windshield, which is nearly perfect in my opinion.

At interstate speeds (~80 mph) the wind barely brushes the top of my helmet.
I can hear my own engine again.

In my setup, with the HeliBars Horizon handlebars my brake reservoir currently touches the back of the windshield. This is not much of a problem, except that this left the clutch side of the windshield unsupported and flapping in the wind, and that introduced a speed wobble into my ride.
At the moment I have a wooden block supporting the left side of the windshield until I can put in a more permanent solution. This eliminated the speed wobble, so I'm confident that a permanent piece would solve the issue

I am pretty dang happy with the T-Rex 1100T large windshield.

I'm looking for a windscreen to get things quieter. I started with stock which I thought was loud until I installed the Puig high road one. It was twice as loud as stock. It hit me right in the face and even with ear plugs was too loud.

I returned it, installed the stock one, and am now looking for a new one. I might try the Gustafsson. Not sure what size though. I'm 5'11" with tall torso. Suggestions? Thx

I have mine sized so I look over the windscreen. The wind goes over my head. It was to long so I cut it down. Before I made it shorter I could see through the screen and hated it that way. If you are like I am then you will want to just look over the screen so you can see the road. This video may help you with the sizing.

Has anyone experimented with making or retro-fitting front fork deflectors to minimize buffeting?

I have a 2024 (non-T) with the batwing fairing and the 15.5" Gustafsson and get terrible buffeting. I'm 5'7" and the top of the screen is about chin-level.

After watching some youtube vids about buffeting being cause by air coming up from the ground more than the windscreen, I started experimenting with fork deflectors and I can say it definitely works.

I have a Puig clip-on deflector that I've tried and it does help some. Although, it looks terrible IMHO and only works if I put it high enough that I have to look through it, which I don't like at all.

I bought the Memphis Shades fork deflectors and they help about as much as the Puig does, maybe a little less, but just aren't large enough to make enough difference.

Anyone got any other ideas?

I am 5'10 with a 31" inseam. The airflow hits me on the chin. But I have been using a clip-on visor extension with the High Road that moves the airflow over my helmet and is like night and day difference. As far as your idea to use the OEM windscreen, its a good idea, but not necessary. The High Road doesn't flex that much. I still use it.

I am totally confused. I picked up my new 1100T this morning and immediately realized that I will need a taller windshield (it was a 58 mile ride home, mostly on two lane rural roads). The Gustafsson windshield looks like what I'll need (I'm 6'2" so will need to tall windshield), but I'm confused about brackets. Will I need additional mounting hardware, or do these windshields just replace what is currently on the bike? And thanks to all for posting your thoughts on different windshields, it's been truly helpful.

Another update on the Puig High road. I quickly designed and printed some of these support washers. They are exactly 2.25mm thick and they allow me to tighten the windscreen bolts more as well as supporting more of the windscreen against the metal fairing bracket. This is a great improvement in reducing the flex of the screen, but doesn't stop it entirely. The Puig plastic is just too thin.

The I added a FOURTH windscreen to this thread. It's the Puig High-Road Touring Screen. This screen has, by far, the best wind protection of the ones listed in this thread. However, it is thin and flexes and vibrates which I don't like. This would be perfect for me if not for that.

There are three tints available from Puig. This one is Dark Smoke. Here you can see it is about the same darkness as the T-rex screen. Maybe a tiny bit darker...?

The Puig screen follows the angle of the factory fairing.

Just a word of caution, Puig also makes one that clamps on however if it rains the clamp does not hold on rough roads. Mine came loose in Ireland and returned home in the saddlebag. That was when I made a customized height screen that is perfect, well maybe not in really hot weather? I can dig up the link if anyone wants to know how to cut that plastic screen to size if theirs is to tall.

Puig also makes one where you drill holes, drilling holes might be the better wind deflector if you ride on a rough road in the rain.

I think I may be misinterpreting what they've posted.
There seem to be two types of windshield they offer for the "Rebel 1100T Bagger" and the "CMX1100DCT"
I've been looking at this page
In the final image it says "You need these mounts"
I took this to mean "You must buy these mounts" where it might actually mean "Your bike must have these mounting holes available"
Some clarification would be nice, but it may just be a matter of examining the bike and making sure I'm looking at the correct model.

Yeah, it's not you, it's them LOL!

In the link I posted it has a similar diagram but shows the factory holes. https://bikescreen.com/cdn/shop/fil...0tmountsv2Artboard1_ead26ee0-46d8-4593-8b37-bde3efa8b35c_large.png?v=1706893139

I think that bracket they show in your link is the same one edwardderby5 has posted above, and I believe that is either....

Well crap.
Maybe I need to continue waiting on Gustafsson Plastics to respond to my email...

I wrote to them about three days ago regarding their windshield offerings.
They show a necessary bracket, but don't specify how to get the bracket.
Hello FatFox, I have T model and am very happy with the Puig High Road Touring Screen. There is no bracket as Edward mentions and I think Edward is not talking the T model Bat Wing. I did tried Honda tall screen and Gustafsson screen, they both had buffeting badly. Only Puig was low cost and got the job done right.
