Can anyone let me know their preferred preload settings for front and rear shocks? I’m just under 15 stone -200lb of solid haggis. Running 7 clicks on rear and half turn on front. Think I need more preload but interested what others find ideal before I change.

Thanks

I’m up to 9 clicks at the rear and two turns on the front and notice a difference. Much more pleasant ride. Suppose only so far you can go only being able to adjust preload but currently fine for me

I'm 9 clicks in the back and a half in the front. Feels like I could probably stiffen it up a bit since I added some stuff to the bike though, just haven't messed with it. Bike still handles and rides nice.

245lbs without gear, but the gear is fairly lightweight. The Corbin seat I put on weighs a ton compared to stock though, and I replaced the factory muffler with a coffman. Not sure what I'd estimate everything at.

Boy... after reading over my own reply, it seems that I should probably go another couple clicks. Gonna try the zip tie trick again and get back with you.

I can't believe some of you guys are running that much on the front. I walk around over 300lbs plus gear plus saddlebags. I run my rear at 14 but my front is only one full turn in.

The front seems tricky to me. At 1/2 turn my front bottoms out too much for my liking. With it set at a full turn it occasionally has a tendency to oscillate over a big bump. I don't see how guys 2/3 my weight are running multiple turns on the front.

Guessing its just what we perceive.... I'm 210 lbs, 2 full turns in on the front 8 click rear.

I’m 150lbs in shorts and probably 160 in full gear which I always wear. I did the zip tie thing initially because it makes sense but I found that I kept cranking more preload in the rear because I was burying the tie in the bumper. I was up to 7 turns on the rear but it felt as the rear began to pogo. I think better rear shocks with some adjustable rebound dampening are worth looking for in my opinion.
I’m at 2 full turns down from stock on the front (2 lines showing plus a quarter). 4 clicks on the rear, this actually feels better with no pogoing regardless of if the zip tie is burying.
I don’t do much freeway, like pushing occasionally in the twisties. When I was running more preload and would occasionally hit an unseen bump or hole it would really jolt my spine and I swear a couple of times it felt like both wheels were airborne, not fun.
