A comprehensive review of the Burly Brand 12" Handlebar kit:
⭐⭐⭐ Meh
For real though the bars are a big improvement comfort wise. For those looking at doing the swap it runs around $400-500 buckeroos which is not nothing for some bent tubing and wires. More on the wires later. But overall I'm pleased with the feel and lean back I now have. After first buying the bike I thought the stock bars were too far forward and made the already uncomfortable stock seat even worse. The previous owner must have agreed with this as they already had a set of Rox Risers installed. When used with the bars this will use ALL of the new extended brake line but is safe enough to run. The install is more tedious than difficult.

The bars have pre-drilled holes for things such as the parking brake lever on DCT models as well as your throttle. They have threaded ends which BB chose not to picture or describe for some reason. So you can use your choice of bar end mirrors or reinstall your weights. My real gear grind comes from the extension kit which I will complain about below.

Alright let's briefly discuss these little guys. As you might imagine our bikes have a fair amount of electrics + controls on them. By far the thing that will be most time consuming is wiring. You can go about this 1 of 2 ways. Burly recommends de-pinning each connector then coupling their colour matched wires in between before reinstalling and moving on to the next one. Thus retaining the factory connectors. Nice and waterproof and easier to diagnose with later should you have an issue. HOWEVER. If your a human with nerve endings in your hands and somewhere to be in 48-72 hours this is the less attractive option. Even with a very small pick the pins can be very troublesome to get at and if you bend even one out of place your gonna have a bad time. Option 2? Butt connectors heat shrink and your choice of caffinated beverage. Taking your time with routing and ensuring each connection is tension steady is the key! This of course adds to the price of you're supposed complete kit which I kind of expected. For around $200 Burly most certainly could have did a little more shop labour to pre-make some pigtails that would make this step a snap. Literally. I'm sure theres some variation in connectors/wires between model years ect. They phoned this part in and I wasnt going to not tell you about it. The only positive I have about the wiring kit is they nailed the colour matches some only being half a shade off from factory making the connection process better. I used some plastic looming I had in the shop rather than the included large heat shrink both work well. The BB kit does include a quality extended brake line as well as both a clutch or DCT parking brake cable. I guess they just eat the cost of those rather than having you specify. Included are detailed instructions with pictures. Some descriptions are Ducati jokes such as "install x part according to service manual" on to next part. But if you're this far in you can figure it out just fine.

A much needed upgrade that probably cost less if you sourced individually or want a different look than the swoop drop down these bars have. Knowing what you do now are these on or off your to do list?

Nice name, the bars themselves are not bad but if you're willing to drill a little there's much better out there and for cheaper. Yeppers the Honda DOT road legalities plastic menagerie had to go. I ended up just trimming the metal bracket it bolts to just above where the tin obscures it. Then some 1/8" bar cut bent drilled and welded for the shape of the plate. There's two bolts at the top of the brakelight. Replacing those with a longer set and yay! Where the plate was supposed to be all along! Biltwell is a good place to start if Burly isn't your tea.
