So I have 3 wire turn signals for the rear. Black is ground red is turn and yellow is running light. No matter how I connect the wires I can't get the running light to turn on. I tried to wire the red and yellow together but only turn on when I hit the turn signal switch. Any advice?

The rear turn signals alone are not wired as full time running lights. In order to accomplish that you'll have to dig into the actual tail\brake assembly and wire into the running light wire there. It will be the Brown wire. Look through the above link and check out all the detail provided by Twizzian. Everything you need to know is in there. Pages 3 & 4

Ahh. I guess I didn’t pay enough attention. I thought they were running lights same as front. Problem solved then. Thanks guys!

Besides, the indicators at that back as "running light" isn't allowed. Only allowed at the front, not the back.
That's not entirely accurate, in the U.S. anyway. Rear running lights are allowed but they must be red and the signals must be amber. So they would need to be dual circuit / dual color which can be found just for this purpose.

That's fine and all, but at least here in the EU you're not allowed to have amber as the driving light on the back of your vehicle.
I'm going to change mine indicators to a triple purpose light, with indicators, normal red driving light, and stopping light, in the same housing, which is allowed.
