Hi there folks, I've been on these Avon cobra tires for the last 8k miles.
they offer great dry grip but I have noticed some unusual wear on the out side edges of the tires.
Anyone know what might be causing it? Cheers

Are you talking about that line?
It looks like the tread end that didn't bond well enough with the rest of the tire.

"You got anything stuck inside the front mudguard? Looks like fouling damage."
No mudguard as scrambler conversion. Also no I had a look

It kind of looks like a factory defect where the tread is separating from the tire. You can see where it is doing the same thing right above it just hasn't broke through yet. That would be my guess and worth a trip back to the tire shop or get with AVON customer service. Either that or someone took a blade to it. Does it go all the way around ?

It does indeed go all the way around. Most likely a factory defect but since they have over 8k miles on them I won't be taking them back. Thanks for the suggestions folks.

I mention letting the Avon rep know because if it is a quality issue they can review the product and make potential improvements, not that I suggest you try and get free tires out of it. Your tires are rated at 10 to 20 thousand mile life span so even on the low side you didn't quite hit the low end.
