I already have an Abus Granit 8008 disc lock from my previous bike. It has a hypersensitive 110db alarm. But I thought it would be useful to have one with a chain for when I am traveling around or going to race meetings. I managed to get one from Amazon for less than the cost of the lock without a chain - go figure!

This is a no mess lock. It is very heavy but as disc locks go it is one of the best and meets the highest U.K. test standards. The chain that came with my lock allows one to fit it to the disc as well as fitting the chain - fasten to a lamp post or similar.

It has a CR2 Battery which lasts for a little over a year. It let’s you know when the battery is dying. CR2 batteries have a shelf life of ten years!

It is a perfect fit for the front disc on the CMX500.

Tip: Shop around. I’ve seen them with a £50.00 difference in price!

Here’s a video.

The Lock Picking Lawyer would have that opened in a few minutes without setting off the alarm, but that means it's a really good lock.
