Motorcycle license plates in my area have "Ride Safe" imprinted on them. Is that correct grammar? Shouldn't it be "Ride Safely" ?

Just a random thought...

That's a question that has been argued over since.. forever?
Some claim it makes more sense, as you have the saying "to be safe", some say it's due to the simplification of the English language, etc, etc.. A lot of different opinions on it.
Grammar vice then "Ride Safely" would be the correct term, but yeah.. It's basically a matter of opinion these days.
It's similar to how some say tomato, and some say tomato. Potato, potato.

that doesn't really come across the same in print LOL had to say it aloud to myself for the 'A-ha!' moment

as to the question posed, i think if i were saying that to someone, and i believe i probably have- i'm sure i just said "ride safe"
