Anyone have any tips on chain guard removal?
Specifically how to, or what tool(s) needed, to get the 'inner' bolt off.
I'm close to stripping and rounding its edges currently and wondering if its just mine or has anyone else had success?

according to the manual looks pretty simple. drive chain cover is 2 bolts -1 towards the front of the bike, 1 towards the rear. and a trim clip, also in the front. i'm guessing they're hex head? if so use a socket instead of an allen key for more leverage. trim clip just push in the center then pull it out.

or were you talking about the sprocket cover instead?

Hey Odin, thanks for your reply. I was not able to get a hexbit on the end of socket (pic 1) between the bolt head and the underside of battery case, and also get good purchase. Ended up with a 1/4 inch ring spanner over the hex bit (pic 2) to do the job. Not ideal, but worked. Appreciate your time and advice...guess I just needed a little re-assurance it was as 'doable' as I thought it should be.

note pic 1: the angle of universal bit holder was not nearly as savage as the pic shows. Angle was much straighter to get some turn on it, however the straighter the angle the worse the positioning.

note pic 2: when I look at it now I really just made an allen key although rather than right angle it kinda gives a little more lift and helped clear the the guard when in position.
