Well I might be the first one with a problem. My Rebel 500 with 500 miles left me on the side of the road this morning. The bike sputtered and died rolling about 45mph. Nothing electrical is working now. Dash is blank, no head light, no fuel prime. All I could do on the side of the road was check connections and fuses which all seemed good. Will update when I am off work and can get the bike home for further inspection.

Oh man, that doesn't sound good. Do you have any modifications done?

Only thought is the power or ground cable came loose :frown2:

That sucks ! something similar happend to me, but my electricals were just fine.

My 500 ABS died on the freeway, but once I turned it off and on again it worked fine.

The problem was that the fuel injector clip was connected but was not fully locked, the loose connection was causing the bike to hesitate.

Since the bike is new and under warranty, the Honda guys did not charge me anything to fix the issue. Just drop it off at the dealership you bought it or ask them to tow it in for you since it wont start.

If you have no electrical working it kind of narrows down the possible problems.

1. Bad battery
2. Bad kill switch
3. Bad stator not charging the battery when the bike is running.

This is usually the case on a bike with a history, but for a new bike with few miles I would tend to think it was @rangrot said earlier. Something either became unplugged or some electrical sensor failed.

Sorry guys i had to leave the state for work and have been super busy. I had to tow the bike to a dealer. They have had it since last Friday. No update yet. I am going to call them tomorrow and see if they have figured anything out. I wonder if Honda will reimburse me for the tow?

If its the same dealer you bought the bike from they charge the towing fees to honda!ask them for it.

Got a call from the dealer today. They said that there was a problem with the ignition wiring and it is good to go! Now the bad......I am stuck working out of state for another two weeks =[. I just want to ride!
