Has anybody else noticed the amount of drag you get on this bike *all bobbers by nature will have this problem*. What is the maximum windspeed you will ride in on this bike? I live on Lake Michigan and ride up and down the cost to work every day and get HUGEE gusts of wind that feel like im going to come off the bike. I notice that anything over 14mph winds I do not like to ride in.

Anybody else feel this way/ has anybody gotten a fairing/ windhshield to counteract this? I hate the look of windshields but it may be essential.

I live next to a highway in PA that gets crazy windy. I still take the bike on it to get places. Once I get over 60mph (speed limit is 65-70 depending on spot) the wind gets crazy and sometimes makes me nervous. Though at night time when it is less windy it seems like the easiest ride ever.

I think a couple things make this bike not great in the wind.

1: weight, very light bike so it doesn't take much to move it around.
2: no windshield and bad aerodynamics, the bike wasn't made to be a long ride highway cruiser. While it obviously can handle it , it wasn't it's sole purpose so the shape of the bike wasn't really made to deflect wind.
3: seating position, you sit up right on this bike. So with out that windshield the wind is actually going to turn you into a kite pretty much. The wind goes over the Speedo and then starts down gas tank until bam it hits a straight up wall. I think the small add on windshield would actually help more than it looks like it would.

I've been looking at the Memphis Shades, just not sure if those will fit the Rebel though. Will find out next month when I take it to the dealer I will be using here in town to outfit my add-ons.

I could not adjust the stock windscreen on my bike to prevent wind buffeting of my helmet so I removed it. No windscreen, no problem. It still cruises fine at 80 mph.
