Hi Everyone, in two weeks i will be picking up my 500 Rebel!

This will be my first bike, as i am a new rider from Minnesota.
Mainly will use it to commute to work, and ride around town.

Any Tips for a new rider on this beautiful machine would be highly appreciated!

Take the MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) course...I found it useful even after returning to riding after a 20-year break with 25 years of riding experience. The courses are often available throughout the summer at community colleges (at least in our common area).

Thanks! i took the course 3 weeks ago. The MSF course is one of the main reasons why i got the confidence to keep riding so i can work on my riding skills.

Welcome, and good luck with your new Rebel 500. My advice: do some back streets, or empty parking lot to practice stops and go, hard braking, etc. This will give you confidence for the road.
