Hi All,

Been an avid reader of these forums since before i bought the bike but never registered, until now.

I've owned a Rebel 500 from new since June. Done about 1500 miles on it mainly weekend riding with my brother. Used to own a Duke 390 that i used for commuting. I bought this one on the basis that it is for leisure riding only and so far that is all it has done. love the bike. I'm a short ass so the low seat height is perfect. nice weight distribution, good power, looks awesome once a few mods go on it. My brother rides a Ducati Scrambler but it's always the rebel that turns heads.

I do most of my riding around the Peak District, Yorkshire Dales and Forest of Bowland. We are in a great spot for bike routes round here so easy to get out with little planning.

Did our first motorcycle camping trip in September. Rode to Kings Lynn via the Peaks and coast roads. About 5 hours each way. Got soaked on the way back as it rained the whole way but this is England. Great ride and loved the way the bike looked when loaded with gear.

Done a few mods, mostly from zeedparts: Belly pan, side panels, tank protector, windshield, diablo exhaust, fork gaiters, hepco and becker solo rack. Got some indicators and a rear light to install over the winter. I've also got a SevenSpeed (same as H2C) flat bar and risers that i am not going to fit so i'll be putting them on ebay soon.

Attached a few pics, all from the camping trip.

Welcome to the forum.

I want to do the motorcycle camping thing too. I have a luggage rack on top of the rear fender, and I'll get saddle bags in the spring. I'll be looking for a small 1 man tent...as well as a small and light sleeping bag. Now if I can just get some friends to buy motorcycles and do the same thing!
