Found this the other day, took measurements and found it fits. Ordered and installed 3 days later. Works amazing and retains stock headlight. Easy install and no fitment issues. Now the bike actually matches the description on the honda website....

Have you verified its performance at night?

I installed the OPT7 LED kit on mine, and while it was bright as all get out, night time performance was horrible.

The low beam projected in a "V" pattern, lighting up the sides of the road, but nothing actually in front of me. Turning on the high beam filled that gap, but still... low beam was utterly useless.

Would be great for a car/truck, as the Vs would cross in the middle... just not for bikes, or at least not for the stock Rebel headlight...

Also, isn't it technically illegal since the housing we have stock is not meant to project such light?

Edit: does the clip which locks in the unit actually lock the bulb? It would seem from the picture the heat sink would prevent that.

I'm looking to replace my whole unit including housing once better parts are available...

So I had a chance last night to check out night time performance. There was a slight v in the low beam pattern, but it was so much brighter than the halogen that I felt overall visibility was greatly improved. The placement of the leds mimics the factory bulb, and thus the low beam has the same cut of to prevent blinding other motorists. As for DOT approval, I could not find "DOT approved" or "for off road use only", so I think that part is a gray area. Installation is simply a matter of unscrewing the indexing ring and using the factory bulb retainer to secure it, then just slide the bulb in and twist it to lock it in place.

I'm going to order this one as well. I like that they try and mimic the halogen filaments, that was always my biggest issue with drop-in bulb replacements. Even if it's not perfect, it looks really really close on the example video on the link. Thanks for link Mike!

Just to confirm. This is literally plug and play? nothing else needed?

LED Headlight

I ordered my H4 headlight kit from XenonHIDS dot com.
It comes with 2 bulbs so you have a spare....after like 190k miles on your bike...lol.

These are crazy bright but the beam is still very focused. This picture is from about 15-20 ft away and it's still got a really sharp cutoff about 2 ft off the floor like the stock bulb had. Extremely pleased for $35.

I ended up ripping my dust boot while working it off the stock bulb, so if anyone else is interested, I will try and snap some pictures of how I fit the dust boot (when my new one comes in) and comparison pics of stock vs LED.

It would be great if you would do a little photo tutorial when you pull it back apart. Since there seems to be issues with the headlight bulbs anyway some may want to just upgrade instead. It does seem like a pain just to install a regular bulb anyway. They shouldn't have a problem seeing you now!

I snapped some pictures and wrote up a quick "How To" in the electrical section of the forum rather than add it to this post since there are multiple posts that include LED in the title. This way it will be easier for other people to find in the future.

I realize this is an old post, but I have found that led xenon bulbs do not "reflect" well with round headlights. I realized this when I installed on my Jeep, and it has the same undesirable pattern on my Rebel. On the other hand, led lights on my wife's CRV look and perform awesome. Basically the round lamp reflects the led lights at all the wrong angles. Is a little brighter, but has some blank spots that are distracting.

High beam function still work? I changed my stock bulb out to the Sylvania Silverstar Ultra and don't really notice a difference. Plus, the light doesn't seem to go as far.

I have the same bulb and mine lights up the road perfectly at night. You may need to adjust your beam angle up a bit.

Is your light white? Mine has a slight yellow tint to it.

Also, is there some sort of spec I should be adjusting it to? ie. at 10 ft facing a wall, top of light should be at XX feet heigh etc, etc?

Yep, very white.

As to the spec, I believe you measure the distance from the bulb to the ground (when it's sitting upright)... then mark that height on a wall around 30ft in front of you, then align it so the high beam shines directly at it.

Yeah I did that at about 20ft from headlight to wall in garage. If I backed out any further, my light would start aiming up because of the downward slope of my driveway.

That's weird that mine are yellow and yours are white...

I know this is an old thread but i swapped out my halogen bulb to this "OPT7 FluxBeam LED Headlight Single Bulb for Motorcycle - H4 w/Clear ARC-LENS Beam Bulbs - 60w 3,500Lm 6K Cool White CREE - 2 Yr Warranty" (amazon description). The way the bulb locks into the housing, it creates the V effect but vertically. So no amount of adjustments will ever correct it. Just a FYI if anyone refers back to this.
