Just bought my first road bike ever last Saturday, 2018 Honda Rebel 500. The one with the blue tank. The first time I rode it.. every time I've rode it since... I can't describe the amazing feeling and how much fun it is! (As many of you already know the feeling I'm sure).

First time road rider, grew up riding much, MUCH smaller dirt bikes as a kid. My first ever dirt bike was a Honda ZR50 back in the 90s. I think I was about.. 6 years old? I moved up from there to a Honda CT70 then onto a Kawasaki 175. I stopped riding up until recently when I had an undeniable urge to go and get a bike. After looking at many, I decided the Honda Rebel was the bike for me! And needless to say, I'm not disappointed in the least! It's a perfect starter road bike for me, while still having room for me to grow on it some.

I've only been on the road for about a week but have almost 300 miles on it already! (This would most likely have been much more, but the lovely Pennsylvania weather really doesn't help out and rain isn't too desirable of conditions to ride in) But I do know that everytime I get off the bike, I'm already thinking about the next time I can get back on it!

I'm excited to hear what everyone has to say and get opinions, advice, and information from everyone in the forum!

Ride Safe & Keep The Shiny Side Up

Remember Pittsburgh has as many downhills as uphills. I went to Carnegie in the late 1950's and a motorcycle was my only transportation....

Good luck.

Oh yes! Pittsburgh is a great city to be from and be in. We're on the outskirts, about an hour-ish south of the city. But we have a lot of beautiful mountains and roads to ride on out my way. Also very close to WV, so a trip to Morgantown or somewhere is a skip and jump away.
