I'll need to ride the seat a few hundred miles to get it broke in to truly evaluate its comfort...and guess what we have 5 days of rain forecast...so will be a while. While side by side pictures would indicate that the Mustang seat to be much thicker it actually only raises the seat height 1". I also like how it fits up around the gas tank much better than the stock seat..

That looks great on your bike, does it move you forward any? Thanks for the pic's, I think I need one of those.

The Mustang seat attaches to the bike exactly like the OEM seat. Mustang provided two stainless steel bolts but I preferred to use the OEM bolts and put a snug fitting flat rubber washer on each bolt to retain them when removing the seat....don't want them falling out and getting lost down in the framework.

The fore/aft seating position is the same as OEM as far as I can tell by noting crotch position from back of tank.

I hope you will forgive me for playing fast and loose with your pictures, but here is a comparison of your seats.

That comparison definitely shows the perception that the Mustang seat would appear to raise the seat height significantly. Notice the amount the Mustang seat hangs below the frame member giving it a thicker look. What I did was measure each seats height from the floor. And it shows the difference in fit with the gas tank.

I originally just eyeballed the tape measure to check the seat height change between the Mustang and OEM and came up with 1" higher for the Mustang ....but today I used a straight edge and measured carefully and came up with Mustang seat only being 5/8" higher. And the seating position for both seats from the gas tank is virtually the same.

Looks like it would push you forward to much.
I would like to be sitting back more towards the rear of the stock seat.
Thinking of having stock seat remade without the hump on the back and wider and flatter.
The Mustang wide vintage I have on a sporster is comfortable and doesn't move you forward like the Tripper looks it would.
To California it's 327.99 including shipping and tax on the 299 base price. Should be able to have a stock seat redone for less.

According to the owner of this one it doesn't move you forward any, I suspect I'll be finding out for myself soon.

I had 3 inches of foam and a new cover added to my stock set for $162.00.
I wanted the height so I could move back on the seat to get some leg room.
I am going to have the seat redone with a gel pad this winter to help with back problems.
A good gel pad can run $80.00.

did a 381 mile ride today...the Mustang seat is definitely more comfortable than my OEM seat but is in no way a long distance cruiser seat.

You wanted pics like these?
