Hello all, before I go through Amazon, I was wondering if anyone could take a clear photo of the installation instructions for this if you purchased the same...

Mine came with only instructions in Dutch or German or some language.

Thanks in advance!

Did you check both sides of each sheet for the English version?

Here's a scan in any case....the DLC is under the seat.

I recently installed the Idea, English instructions came with mine, and notice a change in idle RPMS that I don't remember before installing. Pull in the clutch, drop into first, and the idle increases. No change if bike is in neutral, clutch in or out but as soon as it's in gear, idle goes up. Is it me?

I used the "long straight road" method, instead of lifting the rear wheel.
Once I understood the instructions (by reading them four times) it was an easy programming exercise.
Good luck.

I used the long straight road method too. After mounting the display and routing the cable I left the seat bolts off and drove out to the road I was gonna use to do the programming....shut off engine with transmission in neutral. I lifted the seat and plugged the gear indicator into the DLC. Started engine and when display blinked 1 shifted into 1st gear and started the programming sequence up through 6th gear. I did it this way as the street from my house is not long enough to go through all the gears in sequence without downshifting for corners which may or may not have had an effect on proper programming of the unit so I played it safe and went out to a long straight road.

I ended up programming mine in my little neighborhood starting from my driveway, running about 2 stop signs and trying to maneuver corners in 4th, 5th, & 6th gear at about 15 miles an hour. I got it programmed 1st try though. :cool:Speed had nothing to do with the actual programming. It just needed to sit in those gears for like 30 seconds at a time and that was good enough. I have yet to have any issues with it.

When I programmed mine I wondered "what do people who don't live on a highway do?" If I turn right out of my driveway I barely hit a traffic signal until I get to Alabama.

Bogey,
I live in a gated community with a 20 MPH speed limit.
In that situation I carried the reset instructions in my pocket.

Having a center stand is great ain't it?
Yes it is.

With bike on lift it worked good for steadying the bike when raising front end to put in new fork springs and future new front tire.

Good to have for piece of mind on rides, in case it's ever needed. Had a flat on a bike years ago with no center stand, not a good day, I could have used one then.

I use a Harbor Freight rear swing arm lift for chain adjustment when bike is on lift.
