I think I have determined my Awful 1100T wind noise problem

I don’t like windshields I have tried them and I have never been satisfied. I can stand up on my pegs (stock 25 1100T DCT) and the noise is drastically reduced. With my height and Corbin seat the noise is deafening. I like the look of the fairing I am thinking about removing the little stock windshield. It should get my head in cleaner air. What do you think.

If it not working, make a change. Buffetting of your head while riding is not pleasant or good for you. Noise is not good for your hearing. I would remove the windshield and see if it improves. Zero cost. You might also search here for others that have changed the height of their windshields. Cost depends or brand and size but you still have to install it.

You can only throw time or money at a problem that can be solved.

I don’t really feel the “shake your head around buffeting”. I the wind is being divided around the lower edge of my helmet. I think little eddy currents are creating noise. I will take the stock windshield off and just run the fairing and will report back

While riding, raise a hand in front of you.
You can feel where the wind starts.
That height is full of wind turbulence.
That changover height should be either below your helmet, or above.
When it is at your helmet height, you will get a lot of noise from that.
A way to cure that without changing your screen, is to add an extension screen.
That adds a slit in the screen, reducing tge turbilence, and can raise the turbilence height to above your helmet.
Example:

Just clamps on your screen, no need for holes or glue
