I agree with you. Once the bike is released here the first thing I would like to change is the exhaust. But I hope companies come out with setups for the rebel 300 because those sport bike exhausts would look horrible on the new rebel.

No doubt about that and thanks to the engine already being used in a somewhat popular Honda we should see some systems come to market soon enough. Just a matter of waiting and see how the market plays itself out.
Looking for something shorty perhaps. Nothing upswept on them.
A company called K-Speed has made an exhaust that sounds and looks very good on the Rebel. And Saint they actually have a shorty version too.

I am sure in a few months there will be a purpose made exhaust or two. The stock one is rather ugly in my opinion but I dont like the shorty/stubby ones either. The first one you showed is ok looking. I personally want louder than stock but I do not want the Harley ear bleed rumble. I woul love to see dual pipes for the 500 twin. Not sure it would work but I have always like that look on a parallel twin.

Fortunately it doesn't seem to be that bad as I haven't seen that many negative reviews or feedback, unless its lower down the list for a lot of people. Personally thats the direction im headed, rather get bar end mirrors and a tail tidy befor exhaust.

Bar end mirrors cost about 15 bucks.

From what I have read the bike is so quiet with the stock exhaust that you won't hear it with a helmet on and road noise.

It's that quiet ? That's something that'll really bother me. But the tail tidy is probably gonna make it's way to the first thing on my list much like it'll be for a lot of people

It has the same exhaust as the CBR500 use to have. A lot of people say it is insanely quiet. I don't want anything really loud but I want something loud enough to stay safe. I am going to try to find something decent to throw on as a slip on exhaust as soon as I get the bike.

A regular slip on should definitely suffice if you're just looking for a little more rumble. Anything in mind as of yet ?
I am pretty torn currently. To me it looks like CBR500 slip ons should fit the Rebel 500 but I am not positive. My biggest issue is I don't want something that looks like it is for a sport bike and I also don't like Chrome. I am considering getting the Danmoto XG-1 and painting it black.

But apparently they are ungodly loud. Prob louder than I want. My 2nd option is getting and Ixil exhaust. But I kind of hate the huge IXIL logo.

And last option is just ordering a slip on with dual pipes from china and just retrofitting it to the bike. The chinese ones are between 70-130 bucks, but I would need to buy or make a mid-pipe adaptor. I really like the looks of this one.

Hence why I rather get small but impactful things like that since they go a long way in feeding into my experience riding, compared to an exhaust which isn't nearly as important with how good these sound already.

We need akra on the scene to deliver some special sound
