Brand New Rebel 300A owner. Just got the bike on 6/10/2017. I'm still learning to ride but I took the CMSP course and passed it. It'll probably be awhile before I'm on the streets here but definitely very excited. Opted out for the 300A as this bike is mostly for commuting from work/school. I'll definitely be looking towards this forum for help with my first bike.

Welcome aboard!
My best advice is to ride as much as you can. With the miles come experience and confidence.

Drive safe.
That right there... ride it and get used to it.

I took the MSF course and easily passed, but my first time riding outside of a parking lot was the day I picked up my bike.

First few days, even normal highway speeds (55mph) made me nervous, but I've been commuting to/from work in St. Louis for the past couple weeks now on nice days, ~50 miles round trip on both highways and interstates, and I find myself at ease moving along with the flow of traffic at 65-70mph.

Definitely putting in as much time as I can with the Bike. In my area the weather is getting kid of hot right now but we have our off days like today that was perfect for riding around town. Nice breeze, cool air.

I also have the rebel 300, but non-abs. First bike, first time on a bike. Bought the bike 4 weeks ago, just rolled 2000 kms. Already did one oil change for break in, but I got to adjust my chain as there's a bit too much slack in it now. perfectly normal on a new bike. Until the bike is good and broken in, make sure to do the maintenance.

Cheers and enjoy the ride.

Nice. Wow you definitely put the miles on. I'll probably be close to that as well too when school starts for me. I think I calculated like a average day with close to 30 miles / 48 km a day for me. Definitely gotta be on top of maintenance.

Man. I've had it for about a week but the Sacramento Weather makes me hesitant to ride. Right now our lows at nights is mid 70s and highs in the afternoon is about 100. I need to get the right gear before I attempt that afternoon ride from work to home. Either that or constant stops at the gas station.
