This will be my first bike. I do some mountain biking, but that doesn't count.

Great choice for a first bike, unlike most riders that start out on smaller CC's odds are you will be keeping this for a while to come, unless of course you get tired of the comfortable ergonomics and go supersport

I'm not looking at anything else. Any thing remotely similar style is either way out of my price range or too low CC to keep me enticed. I already put a down payment anyway.

It'll be great to hear about your city rides on the Rebel, most of the time I'd be on the more rural roads and avoiding the city as much as possible.

Well, I am graduating next month, so we will see where a new job takes me. I wouldn't mind moving just outside the cities

It doesn't count as motorcycle riding, but it counts as skills training.
