Hello all: Picked up my new Rebel 300 a week ago. I guess I don't fit the demographic that Honda aimed this bike for as I am 75 years old. My first bike, many many years ago was a 98cc Excelsior (U.K.) I am originally from England, but have lived in Canada for the past forty four years. A few of my favourite bikes were: 1959 Panther 250cc twin two stroke; Honda 500cc Silverwing Interstate: Yamaha 750cc Virago. The Rebel is my sixth Honda motorcycle.

Welcome Panther. I'm the same age, but mostly rode 250s and smaller. I broke down 3 years ago and acquired a less practical, more comfortable bike for my old age. The engine is a blend of modest power and torque coupled with fantastic fuel economy. My CB500XA gets better mileage than my CRF230L; but it is a bit of a cheat comparing water-cooled to air-cooled.

I think the demographic is entry level and re-entry riders - younger and older.

In between, a lot of people want bigger or faster.

IMO - the 500 is about the right size for everything. The 300 is a great size if you're not going to do a lot of freeway/highway riding.
