I'd say that's for looks only, and will do next to nothing for wind deflection.

My advice, if you want something minimal yet somewhat functional... buy the Honda meter visor and plasti-dip it black. Keeps most of the wind off your chest, but you'll still feel it on your face/helmet.

That is pretty tidy, I had seen the Honda visor and thought it would be a fallback plan if the DePretto didn't work out. I do want minimal, I like the openness and the wind is only a "thing" after I get up around 70mph which doesn't happen often on my 8 mile commute to work. So that's why I'm not going for a giant windscreen.
