My owners manual says the service manual can be found online at www.helminc.com, and goes as far as to list the publication numbers (p.126, USA model owners manual). But, I'm not able to pull it up. The website doesn't list CMX 500/300s jus the 250/450 models. Has anyone here found the link to order online? If so, post a link here or pm me...

Btw I'm coming up in my 600 mile oil change and I see a few people have referenced a valve check at the 600 mile oil change. I'm not seeing that in the owners manual. I'm going to do the oil myself but I'll take it in for the valves if they are required.

The 500 cc engine had a 600 mile/1000 kilometer valve clearance check in 2013, it's first year. After that, the first check was set for 16,000 miles/24,000 kilometers. However, a few folks with 2014 bikes were having a loss of power attributed to overly tight valve clearances at 8 or 9K miles. I checked my valve clearance at 14,924 miles and found all 8 valves at or slightly below the allowed clearance. I replaced all 8 shims with ones two sizes smaller (0.05 mm less thick). I never had any power loss, but needed to do it before it got too hot to work in the garage. (It was 107F here this afternoon)

Nope, no valve check until 16k miles (according to the actual Honda owners manual). Just an oil change and filter change. That is all. Go over it with a wrench and tighten up some bolts and things. Save yourself some $.

Found the same thing with shipping at USD$36 plus the manual for USD$30, so a total of USD$66 or get it from Helm for USD$159.95.

Guess which one I went for.
