Just figured I would start a thread for current known issues with the new Rebel.

Currently the only issues seem to be on the limited edition model or if you get the accesory pack from Honda.

1. Tank Pad set: Honda has a 3 piece Tank pad set. It comes standard on the limited edition of the bike(which currently isn't available in all countries). It is also supposed to be a Honda available accessory. The tank pads are not staying on the bike. Slowly peeling off in heat. Honda is aware of the issue and is suppose to be coming out with a new version, possibly before they are even available in your country.

2. The metal accent pieces: This is also an accessory standard for the limited edition model. Or to be bought from honda for normal models. It include several metal plates that go on the sides of the bike plus 1 plate to cover the key ignition area. Picture below shows the plate. The chrome one with mesh holes under the seat.
These plates are only attached via two sided tape. Hot weather seems to be causing them to fall off. Currently I don't believe there is a fix in progress for this. If you get them you just may want to find another way to attach them your self.

These seem to be the only currently known issues as the bike is still in limited release. As more information comes out I will update the original post.

Seems like minor issues so far so that's nothing too much to worry about. They should contact 3m and get their high temperature double sided tape or something lol.
Yea I agree, pretty minor issues. I mean annoying for sure. But the bike currently hasn't had any reports of mechanical or electrical issues thus far which is good.

Looking back at issues the engine had in the CBR300R, deffective crankshaft was one of them and anyone who knows even a hair about engines will know how much of an issue that can be. On that note we should look back at other historical issues with the powertrain/drivetrain.

This is an old post. Maybe the titles should be updated as there are now 3 different rebel models and maybe these issues are easier to pin point if we know what model. You say "new model" but post is from 2017. I have a "new model" the 1100.

confusing to read some older posts that don't identify model.
