Has anyone checked their coolant level? just wondering, I can't where the level is at mine, either cold or warmed up, don't see it in the reservoir, but there is coolant in the rad, verified that much. lol. Is there a trick to it? lol.
yea can't see any in mine. probably be wise to put some in the reservoir I think. lol.I can see coolant in my bottle.
Have you had the bike on it's first service yet? If not, they will take care of it there.Hi all,
I'm also unable to see any coolant in my reserve tank. My problem is that the bike is almost brand new for me (only a few hundred km's). Could it be that the dealer just didn't put any in there. I bought it from another province.
If I'm not mistaken, it's the white tank in the back right? Should I see something through it? What coulor should it be?
Thanks all. I'm a bit concerned and appreciate the help.
Thanks Lyoko. Can I open the radiator cap. I know the manual says not to do that. Sorry I'm new to all this. How can I see if the bike needs coolant in the radiator? Should I put it directly in the radiator or in the reserve tank through the cap on the left side bottom?Have you had the bike on it's first service yet? If not, they will take care of it there.
And yes, it's the tank at the back. Should see the filling cap on the left side somewhere, where it says on the cap "coolant fluids" or something like that.
If you look close, there should be a minimum and maximum meassure on the tank.
If the tank is dry, try checking your radiator when the bike is cold, to see if there is enough fluid in the radiator. If it's low there you'll need to get more coolant fluid asap. Do not drive the bike. May end up damaging the engine.
To be on the safest side, get Hondas original coolant, since there is alot of spesifications reacquired for the coolant fluid. I believe it has a blue colour.
Yes, there is no problem opening it. Just make sure the bike is cold, so that there isn't any pressure inside the radiator due to heat. Thanks Lyoko. Can I open the radiator cap. EDIT: Also, do you see blue coolant in your reserve tank?
Appreciate the help friend, big time. Please let me know if you see a color in the reserve tank and what colour that is. In the meantime I'll check the radiator out. Thanks so much again.Yes, there is no problem opening it. Just make sure the bike is cold, so that there isn't any pressure inside the radiator due to heat.
There is a little safety screw on the radiator cap thou, have to screw it a little out to twist the cap.
Basically, if you fluids inside the radiator when removing the cap, it's fine. If you however don't see any fluids inside it, then that's bad.
Always fill fluids into/through the reserve tank, never diretly into the radiator itself. Fill it until you reach the maximum line.
Guess it's a "long time coming" since I've checked over things on the bike. I'm heading out soon, so I'll take a look, refreshen my memorie in regards of this, and get back to you with more sertant answers here.
Alright, had a look here. The fluid is blue. And my level is actually right at the lower level, so guess I could need a little refill here too, so thanks for making me check!Appreciate the help friend, big time. Well, it gets colder during the winter, even for where you are I assume? So isn't it only logical/natural?I haven't heard my fan run at all this winter. Last summer I would hear it run every time that I shut down the engine after a ride.
Anyone else with similar experience?

I wouldn't have asked if I had known the answer.Well, it gets colder during the winter, even for where you are I assume? So isn't it only logical/natural?
True enough.I wouldn't have asked if I had known the answer.
It was 80 degrees here yesterday.
Is there a simple way to test the fan function.
