I suppose it's not something that everyone does, but some apparantly does name their vehicle's, be it bikes, cars, etc.
I for one havn't done that with anything really, and I've owned several cars and stuff over the years.
But the question has popped up once or twice now, and it has got me thinking a little.
I've always just adressed my vehicle's by their make, and not an actual name.

So does anyone here have a name for their bike? If so, what is it, and why?

Kinda want a name for mine, but I seriously can't really think of something that catch my drift.

I'm kind of in the same situation. I feel like mine should have a name, but nothing has stuck yet. Someone on Reddit named their's Rocinante, which I think is a fantastic name.
Sure, I guess, if you live in France... lol
But yeah, something a little more personal than just calling it "the Rebel"

I call my Rebel 500 "The Ugly Ducklin' ".

The name may have to change because every one the sees it thinks it is pretty. Go figure....Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

Kenny G
Hehe, I like it Kenny! I can relate, since the Rebel wasn't my first choise here due to it's looks, but I somehow ended up with it.

I went out for a ride this evening, and a nickname came to me: The Kubrick. Why? Well, I'm a big Stanley Kubrick fan, and as I was riding with the setting sun in my face I tilted my head down, keeping my eyes looking forward. I realized I was doing a version of the Kubrick stare. I got a kick of that, and thus the nickname was born.

[edit] Hmmm, didn't intend to embed the video, just link to it.

But it's so plain, so boring...!

Exept this: "Mazda RX7 - The Beast" This one is spot on! Would love me an RX7, and a RX8, and the RX5, etc, etc.. <3

I have finally found a name for my bike!

I really like the Japanese culture and I'm really fasinated by their way with words and the meanings they put into them.
So I did some digging, and I found a befitting one, in regards of how I view the bike.
I've said before that the Rebel was not my first choise, and that I'm not all that happy with the looks of it.
So a natural and befitting name for it is: Wabi-Sabi.
Yes I know, a little silly name, I'll admit, but the meaning of Wabi-Sabi is this:
"A key Japanese aesthetic rooted in Buddhist teachings—the imperfect, incomplete, and transient nature of beauty."
It is directed towards things that is said to become more beautiful with time and decay, such as wood that gains a mellow patina over time, or as simple as falling autumn leaves, or a chipped vase, etc.
But I still feel it's befitting, as for me the Rebel is imperfect in my eyes, there will be done alot of things with it in my care, and it is therefore incompleate, and thus with time it will become more beautifull, since I'll be changing it into something more beautifull.

So in short, Wabi-Sabi means the beauty of passing time.
And that fits my bike like a clove from my point of view ^^,
