So I kind of missed up, I left the key on on after a ride and took a four hour nap. The bike won't start. Do I have to buy a new battery or should I try charging it?

Dex,

If you are going to ride a motorcycle you are going to have to have a Battery Tender. If you your Rebel has a no maintenance battery the Battery Tender Jr. is the one you will need. If you charge your battery overnight you should be OK.

Just charge it and you're good to go.
Be sure to take a somewhat "long" trip with the bike too, after charging it, just to be sure that it will start again when you kill the bike and want to start it again the secound time.

I guess I should buy one of those tenders, don't have one at present but looks like a good thing to have around.

If you are going to ride you will need a Battery Tender Jr. sooner or later. During periods that you will not be ridin' for a while just plug the tender in and when you are ready to ride again you will be ready to go....
