Adjustable Levers

A listing on eBay finally referenced the Rebel levers as compatible with a Honda Fury / VTX1300CX. So now a search for adjustable levers for the fury gets you many choices as low as $20 pair. I waited to post this until I got a pair and checked the fit which is a-ok. A little sloppy with its assembly, but fits perfectly and the shorties are awesome! Best upgrade ever.
And I now see a listing specific for the Rebel as well.

For Honda Fury VTX1300CX 2009-2017 Clutch Brake Levers Short/Long Adjustable CNC | eBay

They look cool, and are adjustable. I like my levers closer to the grip because I don't have foot-long fingers. There are also some that adjust in length as well, but I learned when I bought a pair for my scooter that I really liked short. So I just bought the shorty's straight up. I feel so much more nimble and in control with these little guys. And for $20? You really can't lose.

So, are you saying you bought and installed the ones from the link you gave? I have had a look for Rebel ones and they are almost ÂŁ130 from the US?!

They look similar for the Rebel and the Fury VTX1300CX...

To buy or not to buy, I have small hands and these would help no end as currently my hands and fingers are being stretched beyond belief...................

My missus is 4' 11" height and has tiny hands and feet. The rebel is great for her short legs but Honda have cut corners a bit by fitting the one size fits all levers and pegs. I've made a couple of temporary adjustments until new levers arrive. For brake lever a small hole tapped to M3 with a tiny screw adds a dead stop and puts the lever about 10mm closer to the bar. For clutch lever a small nylon spacer and adjust cable to suit also puts the lever 10mm closer. For the gear shift her toe couldn't reach it so I made another peg and welded it on.

So I got my levers changed today, and they look smashing!

But I have a question to those who have changed to these levers; What number do you guys use on the adjuster on it for the clutch? And how have you adjusted your clutch to make it work for you without any problem?
Not saying that I have a problem my self, not directly anyway.
Because I notised now how the lever for the brake is way closer to the handle than the clutch was.
And what's comfy for one of my hands is comfy for the other. But by having the lever quite close on the clutch I fear that I may end up with unwanted wear and tear on the clutch since it may not be pulled far enough?
I haven't ridden the bike yet with the new levers, but I did start it and try it out. Even with the lever adjusted to nr. 1 I still couldn't directly feel anything wrong with the clutch/gears, but I'm still a little anxious about it, since the clutch isn't being pulled as much as it did before.

Me too. Levers arrived today. The brake lever adjusts to go either closer or further than the OEM lever. Perfect. The clutch lever only adjusts further away than OEM. So the temporary spacer I had fitted on the cable I've had to refit even with the adjustable lever. Getting the clutch right is now tricky again as you correctly say there's less throw, so it's basically adjusted with almost zero play to ensure it engages properly with less pull. Fitting slightly thinner renthal grips will also help by a couple mm.

Had a ride today with the new levers, and I notised a slight problem with the one for the clutch.
Apparently it works well even when adjustet to nr. 1 (still unsure about if there might be some unwanted wear and tear from this, but not noticeable at this time then)
But! Feeling in general that that is too close anyway, I tried having it on nr. 2, upon wich when I pulled the lever it slipped! The small "teeth" that you adjust with didn't like the pressure it got, and slipped down into nr. 1 instead. No such problem when in nr. 3 or above, as far as I can tell so far.
Just thought I should share.

Ah, I see. Yeah that wont tell me much then..
But seriously thou..? Is you "missus" a child?! I mean, HOW SMALL is her hand even?!?!?! If even at Nr. 1, it's still too far away??[/QUOTE]

Not a child. 45 years old. Uni degree. Rode bikes for 25 years. Just she's small. 4'11" with size 3 feet.

Ever since I put my adjustable levers on it's very difficult to select neutral. Adjusting the thumb wheel is not fixing it.

I know finding neutral on many bike brands (especially Ducati) gets progressively difficult the older the bike gets, but I changed the levers shortly after buying the bike.
Is it because of the levers or an unlucky gearbox

YES, I had this problem too. I cant switch the adjustable lever under 6 so pretty much useless because at 5 and below I cannot seem to put it in neutral without going to 2nd then down. Did you manage to get a good fix for this? It is very annoying and i spent literally 45 minutes trying to adjust the clutch cable on bottom and even tho its supposed to be a nice simple job lol

Are you changing to other gears like normal Twizzian? No problem there?
Sounds like you might need to adjust the clutch slightly?
Other than that, I'm not sure. Not having any problem with mine at least, so who knows, might be an isolated case on your bike?

So how is everyone liking the levers? From the pictures, it doesn't look like they are much closer than the stock ones. At least the clutch anyway.
Loving mine! They work like a charm, for me at least.
Dude, they are adjustable, can bring em pretty much as close as you want them, the pictures does them no justice.
As I've mentioned earlier, they have some faults to them. Like it slipping into a different number on the adjuster under pressure. This might be a factory fault on mine for all I know. But, it doesn't bother me, don't use that number anyway in my case.
People say they are "sloppy/wiggly", and ofc they are gonna be when it's a two piece lever. But do I ever notice anything like that while using them? Never. They are firm and plessant to use.
I am very satisfied with mine, 10/10, would buy again.

Edit: Should perhaps mention that I got the short levers.
