A couple of weeks ago I finally got to my Brick mod. Then today I decided to smoke the rear turn signals.
I attached 3 images. 1) no brick. 2) with smoked signals. 3) with left signal on during afternoon so you can see it's bright enough.
Let me know which looks best. I used Flexidip (Should've used plastidip) 3 light coats each of black and glossier.

Neither did I!!! I'm sure it will be fine at night since it's fine in the day.

UPDATE: FlexiDip sucks. Already peeling and I don't know why!
Going to redo fronts and rears with plastidip. Argh

Did you use sandpaper on the plastic before you sprayed them? A slick surface won't hold onto paint any good.
And plastidip won't be see through. Will have to be a veeeery thin coat in that case, but that again won't last you long either.

I didn't sand it cuz I was scared to screw up the lenses which are pretty cheap if so. But I thought I'd try it first this way cause it's reversible. I may try that lens tint that was mentioned although that seems permanent.

It is permanent but you can always get new lens covers if you want to go back. I think a paint solvent will remove it also without damaging the plastic.

Those lenses are cool but not practical for me. While they may be smoke when off they will also flash smoke cause the bulbs are clear. If I paint over mine like I did they are darker when off and also flash Amber when the light shines through. I'm gonna sand them, re FlexiDip cause I have it then if it peels I'll buy the replacements if I have to.

That is true if you keep the same bulbs but you can replace them with 1156/1157 amber bulbs to keep the proper signal color. Hope round two works out better for you!

I bought a side mount license plate frame with the light on Amazon. It was like $30. I can dig it up later. It came with a bracket so I had a friend bend it cause I don't have a vise or many tools and kept the license plate frame. From there I just removed the brick, cut the wires, used the holes, modified a bit with rubber bushings and voila. Looks ok. Way brighter and obnoxious with the $5 brake light blinker I got from China.

I hated these signal lights so much that nothing could save them. I would have sent them str8 to the trash if I would need them to pass inspection on 2 years
