I have a 2009 Rebel that's spent the last two months in the shop.:frown2: I've been saving my pennies, however, and this past weekend I test rode and then bought the 500 ABS. I've gotta say, I love it. I've been wanting ABS for awhile, and the way this bike feels is remarkable. Nothing against the 250. :smile2: It's a nimble bike in its own right, and it's been a lot of fun. I just wanted something that I felt would be more reliable down the road (pun not intended). I love the low-end torque, and I'm a smiles-per-hour vs. miles-per-hour kind of rider who doesn't really want or need a liter-sized engine. The new Rebel fits me.

Welcome to the forums. Everyone whos tried the old rebel 250 and the Rebel 300 notices a significant difference in power. I'm sure it's even more significant with the Rebel 500.

You're a winner all the way around. A more modern bike that shouldn't need to be in the shop, and a near tripling in horsepower. And much better looking to boot.
