Ok so knowing this thing is a complete buzzer at all speeds, I decided to buy the Rebel 300 anyway.
ONE complaint....over 40-50mph on the highway, the mirrors are literally UNUSABLE. Has anyone got any ideas on how to dampen these things to make them viewable? I thought about pipe tape in the threads but that won't really work either.
Ideas? Thoughts?

Every model rebel has the same mirrors. I have my bike over 70mph and they have not moved in the slightest. So not sure what the issue you are having is.

I notised when removing my mirrors that they have an adapter on them to fit onto the bike.
Have you checked that they are screwed in thightly?

I have a 300 too and from what i understand they are more buzzy than the v twin 500. The image blurs from the vibration, but you can still make out the general shapes of what's behind you. Not sure if it's worth doing any mods or like mentioned above, let off the throttle for a second.

But seriously thou, even on my 500 i notise that as soon as I let go the throttle the speed slowes down WAY FAST, so imagining how it would be on a 300 on the highway, where it might struggle a little to maintain speed? Yeah it might work, but I sense more danger from it rather than it being helpfull in the moment.

Better to let off the throttle and squeeze the clutch so the engine braking doesn't kick in.

So I think I misunderstood. I though you meant your mirrors were vibrating loose. You just mean they are vibrating so you can't see clearly in them.
Best bet would be handlbar weights that would help dampen the vibration. Or new handlbars all together.

Yep, I can live with it though. Now the vibration from the 300 on my man parts over 60mph is a bit disconcerting, although not altogether unpleasant.

Careful with handlebar weights. Honda Rebel 500 and I think 300 as well has the weights permanently pressed inside the ends of handlebar. Nothing is possible. No mirrors at the end, no bark busters or hand shields. Another cheap design solution. You may try to find the aftermarket handlebar but beware again. If your bike is ABS model front brake hose is so short you might not be able to run all cables and hoses with new handlebars.

I have barkbusters on my rebel, the Storm model. they only attach to the handlebars, there's no bar attaching to the end/bar weight area.

You could always (puts on sunglasses) drill those weights out. I did on mine to put in bar-end turn signals and honestly couldn’t tell the difference. Maybe if I rode 2 bikes back to back, but It’s livable. And I guess it depends on how much you are expecting to see out of the mirrors. I’m usually just looking for large vehicle sized blurry objects in them and haven’t been disappointed.

I had the same problem I tighten two screws on back of the mirror it fixed the problem hope this helps

Hitchcocks Motorcycles sell in line extensions that remove mirror vibrations on Royal Enfields. There must be something similar available elsewhere.
