Hi All,

New to the forum, owner of a new 2017 Rebel 500A and also a newbie biker. I had a question regarding the 3 black tubes which are close by the side stand. what are those tubes for? the manual doesn't seem to mention it anywhere. I have gone through the manual like several times :frown2:

Also I know that the transparent tube with a cover on it is the crankcase breather.

I'm not exactly sure where they route to on these bikes, but gas/radiator overflow tubes and a battery vent tube are common.

Yes they are coolant/ motor oil overflow tubes...I know firsthand as I overfilled my coolant levels before.

The only one of the three mentioned in the owners manual is the Crankcase tube, it's the one with the plug at the end. The other two I'm unsure

One of them is the overflow tube for the gas tank. Not sure about the last one though...

I had the same concerning look under my rebel, I'm new to motorcycles as well and I sent a picture to my buddy who's been riding for years and he said to not worry about them, they're normal breather tubes.

I had the same moment of panic seeing 3 stray tubes not connected to anything with puzzled look on my face, "Well, that doesn't look good..."
