If it's hot/humid I'll wear an armored vest (speed and strength true grit) instead of the jacket. Arms would become ground meat, but at least the torso is protected.

This being my first motorcycle in around 20 years I bought armor to wear with all my gear determined to be captain safety...till I realized how uncomfortable it is. It now sits in my closet collecting dust. All my clothing is Kevlar lined so I'm good against sliding but impacts...well I'm willing to risk it. If I'm not comfortable I won't ride, and if I'm not going to ride I got better uses for my garage than a two wheeled garage decoration.

So I read all the posts and decided to try a mesh jacket from Fly Racing with armor in the elbows, shoulders, and back. T-shirt underneath. Fits well, flows a lot of air, and quite comfortable while riding. It's mid 70's here in NJ and I'd usually just wear a T-shirt, need to wait till it's in the eighties to further evaluate this jacket, maybe not this year.

I've been a bicyclist for many years, I've had bicycle crashes, and I've got scars from them. I can only imagine how severely injured you could be at motorcycle speeds! I wear gloves, helmet, boots, motorcycle paints ,and armored jacket every time i get on! It's hot, humid, we got bugs, and I sweat!
