I am currently looking into these, their sissy bar, and rear top box and curious what your extended impression of the orbit cases and c-max are. They are quite expensive, but I have learned my lesson to cry once. Are they worth it?

for the fit and quality, yes they're worth it. there are cheaper bags, most of which you have to cut holes into or modify in some way. which is why i went with these. i don't ride in bad weather, but I have no doubt they are waterproof as advertised if you were to see alot of rain. the only thing i didn't count on when i bought them was if i go somewhere and want to change into shoes, my riding boots won't fit in the bags, when i take my sneakers out but it's not a deal breaker.

That is very helpful, thanks. Do they stick out farther than the handlebars? Question for lanesplitting.

they are fairly even, if anything it's an inch or 2 tops.
(ps-i'm trying very hard to withhold my opinion on lane splitting since you mentioned it)

It isn't legal yet here, but in the event it is legalized in the next month or two, I'd like the ability to if I can get over the fear. I also don't think I could do it while moving. I think I'd be able to do intersections at a stop though.

These look great. Do you mind posting a pic/vid of that the bike looks like if it only had a single bag on? For my daily commute I am wanting to use a single bag and am interested in what is looks like.
