National Cycle Flyscreen windshield

I posted in a separate thread that I purchased a National Cycle Flyscreen for my 500. Had my first ride with it today and am very happy with the results. I was getting blasted in the chest and that caused my jacket (Cortech) to balloon up and act like a sail. The flyscreen directs the air that's coming straight into the chest up and around and over my helmet. There is still wind to the chest but it's coming from around the screen. All-in-all it is something that I'd recommend to anyone wanting to try a windshield.

My plan was to start with the smallest windshield and if I wasn't happy, order the larger Deflector or Street Screen but I am perfectly satisfied.

Gary, That really looks good.

I have attached a pic of the genuine National Fly Screen that I installed on my Suzuki S40. I painted the back side of the Fly Screen a cream color to match the fuel tank..

I covered the knock off Fly Screen on my Rebel with red vinyl to match the fuel tank, but I like the paint better. It will be another month until I put the Fly Screen on the Rebel and i will take some pics....

Looks good. How do you like your knockoff flyscreen?

Gary,

The appearance is almost identical to the National Fly Screen, but the plastic part is a little thinner and has the finish like sun glasses that look to be chrome plated. It was slightly damaged in shipping because it came in an envelope. The hardware part is satisfactory, but it is not the same quality as the National. It will probably be OK for a couple of years or until I see something that I might like better. It was only about $50.00 from HongKong...

Gary, could you please post a link to where you purchased the screen? Also, did you need to make any mods while installing it?

Of course - 2017 Honda CMX500 Rebel There are 4 different models of screen available - Flyscreen, Mohawk, Deflector and Street Screen.

No modifications at all. It comes with 4 sets of different widths rectangular rubber that goes between the fork and the mount. You need 2 different size hex wrenches and a small socket (don't remember what size). One of the hex wrenches is for the two mounting bolts and the other is for adjusting the screen left to right in the mount. Took me about 15 minutes but any semi-competent mechanic can do it in 5.

The more I look at your flyscreen, the more I like it.
