New seat

Like a lot of others, the wife decided the stock seat on the Rebel 500 was one of the negative points about the bike. We thought about aftermarket options but tbh they all looked a bit naff and expensive. Looked up a new OEM seat from Honda UK and it was about 185. Got one from Honda USA for $40! Even with $90 shipping it still works out half the price of buying one here. Bought that, and had it stripped, re-foamed and recovered. The finish seat is perfect fit and better looks and comfort than stock. Happy.

Is it flatter than the original? Or did you just change the foam type? Looks-wise is really good.

Love this.

Already bought another stock seat. looking to have it redone as well.

Did you pick a specific foam to use?

Used the stock base and replaced the Honda foam with medium density chip foam. Popular choice for hardtail chops so pretty comfy. 2 different vinyls for cosmetic covering.

Was a mate who stays local to me that did the work. I’ve used him before for other seats with great results. That’s this seat now just done 500 miles over the last few days and it’s been great for comfort. Wife hasn’t even bothered with her airhawk
