Buzzing

Hi guys.
I just bought a 2018 Rebel 500 a little over a week ago, which now has around 80 miles on it. When I'm rolling on the throttle (only when in gear) I get a buzzing noise that is in sync with the rpm. Not sure what this could be.. any thoughts would be appreciated. Not sure if it's something that will work oit as this bike is still well within the break-in period or what. Doesn't cause any added vibrations and isn't alarmingly loud.. just more annoying than anything.

Thanks

My guess is you're just hearing the engine noise over the quiet exhaust.

Finding the source can drive you crazy. Where you think you hear it is not always where it’s coming from. Check off the easy stuff first. One the drove me nuts came from my key fob. Check side covers and anything you added on. The good thing is that the bike is under warranty so you could always take it back and let them figure it out.

I used to hear a sort of scraping/rattling noise. I have no idea what it was.Might have been the chain (my former bike didn't have one) but it went away - or my ears got used to hearing it.

It could be the famous induction noise (hope I'm giving the correct reference here - https://encyclopedia2.thefreediction...nduction+noise), although it sounds less of a buzz and more like a soft rattle, like a playing card hitting the wheel spokes.

Thumbs up

Same thing was happening with my 300. Pretty sure it was just the engine noise as CueBaller mentioned.
Just get a Slip-on exhaust
