Wth <200 miles

Got a 500 with less then 200 miles and it was chattery after a week. Just noticed oil level empty and the rest brake fluid too!

Where do I add brake fluid for the rear?

Richard,

Are you saying the engine oil is empty? You may need a second person to help you check the engine oil as the bike must be held up level to check the level in the window.

If any fluids are low at 200 miles it is time to trailer the bike back to the dealer.

I'm stupid. Checked it cold. Freaked out. Added oil. Maybe it wasn't low but I added while cold and been draining excess ever since.
I also noticed the rear brake fluid looks low. Too off that cover and verified but don't know where to add that and confused why my new bike would even need fluids.

Richard,

I am doubtful that your bike needs any fluids....

Get to a dealer and have them show you how to check the fluids.

You can check the oil level by yourself, but you have to be careful. Just kneel down at the side with the showing hole and turn up your bike with your arms. But make sure the stand is really down, so you can carefully lower your bike on the stand again after looking.

PS: And the looking hole for brake fluid is VERY tricky, it looks empty, but if you look extremely careful, you should see the fluid.

Since you are a novice, then the very first thing would be to make sure you actually know what you're doing, _before_ doing anything at all..!
It's like the saying, "measure twice cut once" Same applies here.

And driving with too much oil could hurt your seals and gaskets inside the engine. Should not drive around with it like that.

And every container of fluid has two marks on them, Minimum and Maximum. Or upper and lower, call it what you want, same deal.
But as Kenny mention, the bike has to be standig up and level to get the correct reading on the fluid level, regardless of wich one you're looking at.
