Break in phase

Hello all,

I was wondering how long your respective dealers told you to break in the bike. How high can I go on the speedometer and for how long? I wasn't told anything as my dealer was in Quebec and speaks French.

Break in per Honda is 600mi. As far as riding, my dealer just told me to ride it normal - don't baby it, don't full throttle beat it up, and vary the revs once it's nice and warmed up.

My dealer told me to go about half throttle at most on my bike. For the 300A that was more then enough for my city riding.

I ride mine the way it happens each day. No babying on my end at all. It's a Honda, built to be on the road for a lonnnnng time. Check the fluids and tire pressure once a week and you should be okay, however; don't follow my advice............I'm no expert , I just like to have fun and ride.

I think the break in period is actually 300 miles, with an oil change at 600 miles. I believe that's in your owners manual too.

You think, or you know? Because the break in period is until it's first service.

That's just showing when the first oil/filter change is due.

The question is if there is an established "break-in" period stated in the manual... meaning, take it easy, vary the revs, use all the gears, etc.

I don't recall there being one, but that doesn't mean there isn't one.

As I've allready explained, the "break in" prosess is until it's very first service. So for you guys with your mph, it's at 600 and not 300. The end.
