My bike sounds horrible after riding in rain and washing it

I am going to clean and relube my chain tomorrow because maybe that's why it sounds horrible right now. Is that how we should be lubing the chain? Also can I use WD-40 on things like where the wheels are attached to the frame at? Sorry I'm not that bike technical. I guess it might be called a wheel hub bearing?

Also does any have any suggestions on how I can clean the rims?

I wouldn't spray wd-40 on to bearings. It might degrease them.

Do you know what would be a good way to clean the rims? After riding in the rain they look like crap.

if the back wheel is greasy from the chain lube i would dip kitchenroll into degreaser and wipe it off, but be careful not to get it onto the centre of the wheel.
tbh i haven't cleaned my wheels yet cos i am riding my other bike.

I keep a spray bottle of soapy water and spray the rag then wipe them down once in a while. I never use a hose on my bikes. Also Pledge multi surface in a spray can and a micro fiber cloth is all you really need for the rest of the bike. Itís been my go to for years and keeps them looking new.
