Drone Footage

Got the Mavic 2 Zoom last night and decided to test out the new Active Track 2.0.

I had the original Mavic, but sold it before I got the bike. I never played with Active Track on that model, but apparently 2.0 is a massive upgrade.

In the beginning, I'm using my phone/controller to have the drone lock on my shape (body/motorcycle). Once set, it will follow me. This is profile mode.

The three modes are:
Trace – positions the drone from behind or in front (tricky) of you
Profile – positions the drone at your side
Spotlight – you control the flight path of the drone but it will keep tracking the subject

Note - I am not controlling the drone whatsoever in this video. The controller is inside my tank bag when I'm moving.

Not bad, eh?

P.S. Colors look like crap and washed out because I'm using the Cinelike profile, which tries to replicate LOG. It's purpose is to increase dynamic range and is intended to be color graded in post production - i did not do that for this video.

I don't know what a Mavic 2 or an Active Track is....but how much does all that cost? (to do what you did?)

And does the drone know enough to not run into the light poles? (so it has it's own proximity sensors.)

I would love to be able to have it behind me, and film in some mountain canyons.

$1300 and some change after taxes. https://www.amazon.com/DJI-Quadcopte.../dp/B07GD9XY6J

Yes, there are optical avoidance sensors on ALL sides of this drone. They work extremely well. I have tested this full speed directly at my face (not recommended!) and it will hit the brakes and stop well before me, hover in place and will not go forward even if im holding the sticks down.

Version one of the Mavic is under $900 now http://a.co/d/dZqBdR3 though it only has sensors in the front and underneath.

I have to say, Im also thinking of buying the new mavic 2 & have been really impressed with youtube reviews.
The active tracking and collision avoidance advancements are amazing.
I still have the Phantom 2 which is a relic in comparison

I think Id go for the Hasselblad camera for quality rather than the zoom lens version though.

Good demo

That's freaking awesome! I have the Mavic Air and have been meaning to try this. Is this your first attempt at active track?
