Question What should I try to pay for '19 500 ABS?

The selling price in this picture includes the windscreen, accessory socket, and passenger seat. He didn't take any money off at all. I am no good at haggling. With the '20 bikes coming out in a couple of months, what should I shoot for? Surely they can knock Something off somewhere? Thanks in advance.

If it were me I'd wait a few months when they start dropping prices for the '19's. The '20's should already be making their way to the floors. If you're in the US I'd use CycleTrader and just keep an eye out. Right now I'm seeing 2020 500 ABS's new for 6,499 on CycleTrader, so I don't see why you'd be paying 6,918 base price for a '19. That just doesn't make sense. All of the accessories you're wanting you could find online and still be cheaper than the extra $500 they're charging you currently. I ended up buying my '17 last year in August and Honda was giving discounts for new bikes when buying from dealers. It's a 500, non-ABS, but base price was $4,200. The ABS is only supposed to be $300 more so I still don't think you're getting a fair shake. Maybe try a different dealer.

EDIT: I just saw that you had a California tire fee, so I'm assuming California and things are inherently expesive there just as they're getting to be where I'm at, but I'd still look around as I still think it's too much. Or if you can travel to another location that may be an hour or two out of the way you may find a better deal.

Thanks, yeah it seems ridiculous. No money taken off at all. I will be looking around for sure, but wondered what would be reasonable to ask for off. I am bad at negotiating so I don't want to ask "Can you reduce this by $500?" if that's insane.

It can't hurt to try. All they can say is no, and then you're in the same spot you're in now so it can't hurt. And frankly, $500 off an already 2 year old model isn't that ridiculous of an ask. Prior to buying mine, from what I was reading, a lot of the dealers won't necessarily drop their price but they may haggle with you on free gear. So they may not decrease their price, but you could get a free helmet or jacket. It could be worth a shot to barter that way. Or if you're anywhere near the border of Nevada or Oregon, see what they have available and make a day trip out of it renting a truck/trailer and picking it up. Or better yet, see if you can find a really cheap one a ways away and try to see if one of those dealers would be willing to consider shipping it if you'd pay for shipping. If you can buy a bike for 5k and ship it for another $500 you'd still be making out better than you currently are.

If you're anywhere near Poway, CA though, they have a dealership that doesn't have dealer markups or freight charge which would save you almost $800 right there.

Look at the price of used 500s. Not that you want used but that gives you an idea of off the lot depreciation. I think you can do a lot better. Without looking at new bikes for sale, Id say anything over 6800 out the door for an ABS model is Money wasted. Check for rebates too. I paid closer to 5800 for a 2018 non ABS 500 out the door with a 500 dollar rebate. My thinking is if I can save a grand by driving there and back in a day I came out ahead. Good luck.

In mid June 500 ABS I paid $6,598.00 right out of the crate, no destination or set-up charges and they delivered it to my home.

They are charging you about $500 over list price (list is $6499). A lot of local dealers here charge what they call ADM (additional dealer mark-up) and that can be anywhere from $1,000 to over $2,000. I looked at a Suzuki C50 with a sale price of $5,495 but with dealer markup and other fees it came out to over $8300. I didn't buy it.
