What bikes have you guys previously owned???
I figure this could be a good thread for people who are getting the Rebel to post which bikes they have previously owned.
My first bike was a Chinese 200cc Dual Sport bike. I have wanted a motorcycle for a long time, but I was a bit nervous about riding one. I wanted something cheap and easy to learn on. To be honest it was a great starter bike, probably more so than any other bike I have ridden. Was so cheap I didn't have to worry about breaking it or anything. And it was pretty light so easy to learn to ride on because it was easy to handle.

Second bike was a 1990 Suzuki Katana.
The chinese bike was fun, but didn't have enough power to have a passenger. Or to really go on roads that had a speed limit over 45. So I bought an old Katana. For how old the bike was it was pretty nice. Sounded great, ran good most of the time. But it was a carbed bike and the carburetor kept having issues causing the bike to stall after it was warmed up. The bike was pretty heavy especially coming from the chinese one. And really gave me an idea what it was like to ride a "real" bike. The power and handling made the Chinese bike feel like a toy.

Third bike was a 2007 GSXR 600. First bike that I actually spend over 1k on. It was honestly the nicest bike I have owned and probably nicer than anything I ever will own. It was quite a bit lighter than the Katana. It was also thinner and much easier to handle. And then there is the POWER. I wasn't thinking there would be much difference because this and the Katana were both 600s. But my god was I wrong. The bike could do 80 in 3rd gear. The bike was super fun to ride. But honestly at times it the power it had made speeding tempting, and actually for the type of riding I do was wayyy to fast. The bike was fuel injected, started and ran perfect all the time. But when I was getting ready to buy I house I chose to sell it.

2011 Ninja 250R. I really started to like smaller bikes. Just the light weight and easy to handle nature of them made them more fun. And something I would use more often. This bike was carburated but ran great. It was probably my most used ride. I just sold it this week to make money towards the Honda Rebel Purchase.
This bike would easily be a great starter bike that if you didn't care about super high speed performance you would likely never need to upgrade. The bike is super light, really easy to handle. And just enough power to be fun and practical.

So what bikes have you future Rebel owners had?
