Replacement Horn

Has anyone seen Arches Mechanic's video on replacing the horn for his 300? I want to do the same installation on my 500. What are the downsides and are there any possible issues with damage to the electrical system?

To Arches Mechanic, thanks for the video.

Gary

Well, I hope you don't use the horns he used in that video because they both sound like clown horns, and not very loud either.

You have two options, a horn that falls within the stock voltage/amperage, or a new loud horn and you might need to do some rewiring and bring in some power from the battery directly.

Anything is better than stock.

Gary,

The best way to install a new horn(s) is using the OEM horn switch to activate a fused relay that is connected to the battery and then you can use pretty much any horn that you like.

If you search YouTube there should be plenty of information....

Good Luck

Kenny

i've seen some of his other vidoes, they are pretty basic and informative.
seems like every bike i've had used the bare minimum sounding horn (in db's)
