Goodbyes (for now) are never easy...

Hello to all,
Well, after much deliberation and sadness, I have traded my 17 Rebel 300 in for a brand new floor model 17 Yamaha Bolt 950.

BUT I never say never. If the Bolt proves to be too much bike for me (it's nearly 2x the weight of the Rebel 300), I'll start looking for a used 500. Many thanks to all who have been supportive and encouraging me along this journey.

I'll be back here once in awhile seeing what's going on. May all of you be safe and enjoy the ride!

...and just like that, back again :)

Well, bid my goodbyes last month, along with the "I never say never" disclaimer. Good thing ...

After riding my Yamaha Bolt around for a month, it became apparent that this marriage wasn't going to last. The Bolt was beautiful, and fast (with nearly 950cc it was FUN!). I could flat foot the bike just fine, the seat was lovely, and the reduced reach bars I had added were fabulous. BUTTTTTT...for a short girl like me, the topheaviness of the bike and the vents from the exhaust nearly frying my right thigh had me realizing quickly that this infatuation wasn't gonna last. I felt defeated and disappointed. But I knew with my apprehension growing, I was going to have to start searching for an alternative.

And that's what brought me home here ... but this time, "new and improved" ... I LOVED my 300, but with the amount of riding I do now and the distances, I needed something "more". After searching high and low, I'm trading in my big beautiful Bolt and cozying up to a brand new '19 Rebel 500 this time, with the ABS. If all goes well, I'll be picking her up on Saturday. I'm very excited about this bike this time around. I did the mods for the short person on my 300. This time it will be quicker and faster as I know where to go to get the necessary parts and stuff.

So I'm happy to be back and look forward to catching up on the latest posts from everyone!

Thanks folks! It's good to be back. I'll post in another forum once I get the bike and start "building" her. I have a feeling she'll wind up looking alot like my 300 did when I traded her in

Welcome back lol! I test rode a Moto Guzzi v7 last week and it was a blast but then seconds into being back on my 500 I was like nope I'm good lol. Although I think I'll be adding a CB500F to the stable next week...

Well, I got it! After a few snafus, the bike is mine now and comfortably resting in my garage (only because it's raining out!). I'm very happy! After putting on a windshield and rear rack this coming weekend, I'll like it even better! Thanks to all for the warm welcome back, I am very excited to start riding again. And I'll move over to the photos forum and start posting the pics. The only thing I've done so far is new mirrors. Baby steps!

And after much deliberation, her name is Akela - In Hawaiian, means "graceful and noble". I'm neither, but aspire to be
