Best way to take off instruments on handlebar?

I want to readjust some of the instruments on the handlebar (the brakes for example) but my allen keys feel like they are just stripping away the bolts. Any one have any tips and tricks?

Get some allen sockets and remember they are metric. Don't use ball end allen keys.

They are on super tight. As stated above, make sure it fits snug and has enough torque with a socket. An allen key by hand turning is not going to cut it. It will strip it going by hand.

Also, use high quality tools not the ones left over from Ikea.
