Hidden Allen Key!

Sometime back while researching the Rebel, I found out that there is an allen key hidden behind the right side cowl panel. Handy to use if and when needed.

I recall the video that mentioned this said that this allen key could be removed by loosening this silver screw holding it in place.

Now, I tried every **** thing and I couldn't get this devil screw to budge.

Does anyone else know about this? Have you been able to remove this thing?

King,

Very likely there is thread sealant on the screw and you can soften the sealant with a clean hot soldering iron.

If you have an impact driver with a big enough screw driver bit that should work, if not you will need a big screw driver to break it loose the first time. When replacing the screw use a coin to tighten it.

Hey King,

Use a coin and some vice grips to open that bolt. I tired using a large screwdriver and all it seemed to do is strip the bolt.

Make sure you push the plastic fairing back in extra hard. Mine flew off down the highway because I didn't push it in properly.

Cheers

I used a breaker bar with a flathead bit in a socket to get mine off. Super easy that way.
