Cool Bicycle Rack

So I'm trying to decide whether or not i should get the bike rack from 2x2cycles.com

https://2x2cycles.com/product/moto-b...4aAjLVEALw_wcB

or should i custom fabricate one?

I ride freestyle bmx so my bike is pretty small, around 22-24 lbs, the 2x2 cycles rack attaches to a luggage rack and those are usually rated to 10-20 lbs, with the 2x2 rack and a bike on the luggage rack would be pushing close to 30lbs on a luggage rack which sort of scares me.

if i were to custom fabricate one i'd make it to where i could mount both of my wheels via a saddle bag side holster sort of set up and then have the luggage rack just support the weight of the frame, and whatnot without wheels

sort of like this

http://www.bikeexif.com/motorcycle-bike-rack

but the wheels for my bmx bike will be mounted where saddle bags are supposed to go.

Just looking for some opinions maybe thoughts on how to do this better?

also this is my first post ever so i hope i did it in the right place and everything! Thank you to everyone on here I've learned a lot just reading around so far! I Just had to join!

yeah i saw yours a little while back actually, i like it, it's just a little to tall for my taste, do you feel like the wind or weight throws you off or anything?

I have sittting pretty high in the pic it actually drops much lower for travel. Its like carrying a very small passenger with their knees out. Pretty minimal unless the wind is terrible but its better in a side wind than the traditional carrier

ya I can snap one for you tonight hopefully. Ive also since tried it with the front wheel off with the bike facing front to back like the traditional stands and it works very well in that position as well, maybe better even in traffic.

So bmx sits in a way better spot feels like a tiny passenger and catches very little wind. A multi purpose rack might not be ideal for longer trips so I'm going figure out my preferred position and build a rack like Nathan Williams has .

DUDDDDDDEEEEEE yessssssssssss that's what I'm trying to go for! They came to my hometown on that road to glory trip a couple years ago and i was eye fucking there bikes hard, i wish more people would realize that's a significantly more arrow dynamic looking position (not sure if it really is though). All these upright bikes make me quiver just looking at it, I've thought about buying all the parts for a fender and welding up some bike stand clamps to where it would grab the top tube near the seat and the handle bar cross bar (with the bike upside down) I've seen pictures of clint reynolds motorcycle and that's how he has it, it looks way more sturdy. but a fender would be like 300+ or more, so i'm just saving up for it now. soon though! If you end up doing anything like this keep me in mind my dude! Take some pictures! It almost looks like he has some sort of support bracket on there, i like the idea of the rack that Nathan has.
